    • Understand how fluency develops in progressions from the earliest stages of reading acquisition.

    • Understand the role that fluency plays in literacy achievement.

    • Understand how to correctly interpret the role of oral reading fluency (ORF) assessments for benchmark/screening and progress monitoring.

    • Know how to determine a student’s reading fluency level.

    • Know research-supported components for effective instruction and intervention for reading fluency for all students.

    To reduce our impact on the environment, please feel free to bring along a 'keep cup' for your pre-event morning coffee stop and a water bottle to keep you hydrated throughout the day. There is no need to pack any morning tea or lunch as the day is fully catered.

    The closest train stations are Patterson or Bentleigh. Approximately a 20-minute walk to the school

    Parking:

    Parking for longer than 2 hours is available in the streets surrounding the school. Sunnyside Grove or at the back of the school near Milton Street. Please do not park in the staff car park.

    Other helpful information:

    Grab a coffee on the way in from District Brewer. This fabulous coffee shop is located across the road from the school. Order ahead with the Skip App and avoid the queues.

    Perth:

    Parking

    The best place to park is to enter ECU off Central Avenue in Mt Lawley. Parking is free on Saturdays. Park close to Buildings 15 (Blue Building with letters on it), 16 (Grey exposed brick) or 10 (Red and Blue building).

    Other helpful information

    Grab a coffee on the way in from Café 10. You’ll find Café 10 close to the car park and to the right of dispensing machines outside Building 16. The lecture theatre we are in is very close by and you’ll see signs directing you.
